(b) The term "family member" to which you refer relates to families on the general Waiting. List for public housing and is irrelevant to families cleared for development for public purposes. Mr. Cho's family was rehoused in 1964 from the Homantin Cottage Area which was being cleared for development. The definition of "family members" as for waiting list applicants does not apply to intakes from clearances, and in any case did not apply in 1964, when the former Resettlement Department was managing Tsz Wan Shan Estate.

(c)

It is not appropriate for the Authority to disclose to other persons details of tenancies; but I can inform you that I an fully satisfied that Rooms 408, 409 and 410 of Block 27, Tsz Wan Shan Estate are properly occupied in accordance with the Housing Authority's current rules. Several day and night checks have been made and investigations showed that all twelve members of Mr. Cho's family live in Tsz Wan Shan Estate.

(d) Investigations showed that the two married daughters of Madam WONG Chung-ying are living with their husbands elsewhere and not in Tsz Wan Shan Estate. Since they no longer need space on the housing estate, their names are very properly struck off the tenancy card.

(€)

As I have already stated, I have had a full enquiry carried out as to the facts of these tenancies, and I an of the opinion that further investigation or a public hearing is unnecessary.

If you have further queries, perhaps you may like to call on Mr. LAM Chung-lun, J.P., City District Officer (Wong Tai Sin), at Paris Theatre Building, King Fuk Street, San Po Kong, Kowloon (Tel. No. 3-229702). He is fully conversant with the details of your complaints.

I am, Sir,

Your obedient servant,

(G.A. Higginson)
