PARLIAMENTARY QUESTION:
1.
SIR PAUL BRYAN
Sir Paul Bryan (Conservative, Howden) has put down
the following Question for written answer on 9 June:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if he is satisfied that the Independent Commission Against Corruption in Hong Kong is being given the necessary resources in finance and manpower to deal with its task.
2.
Sir Paul Bryan is Chairman of the Anglo/Hong Kong Parliamentary Group and regularly puts down Questions designed to show Hong Kong in a good light, no doubt in an attempt to offset some of the criticisms aimed at the Colony by certain other Members of Parliament.
3.
We have consulted the Governor of Hong Kong who has provided details of the financial provision for the Commission in 1975/76 and of the staff increases proposed.
4.
I submit a draft reply.
