Mr. G.R. Sneath,
Solicitor General,
Hong Kong.
Sir,
I notice that in your correspçondence with me you are prepared to
equivocate and talk about anything under the sun except the matter in
question. Your treatment of the case certainly raises doubts in my mind.
The parents of this little girl are distressed and determined to find out what happened about the rapist. I therefore ask you again, this time two dire direct questions, to see if you are prepared to stop this abuse and answer: 1. What was the reason why this case was not sent to court for judgment?
2. What investigations were made to try to find the rapist?
It is supposed to be the essence of British "Justice" (in which I believed before coming to Hong Kong) that ce must be SEEN to be done.
In this case the parents are left without an explanation, and justice is
not seen to have been done.
May I ask you for a straightforward answer, please?
Yours faithfully,
E. Fuiste
E. Elliott.
