was cross examined in the Godber tríal about his various
admissions in the Daily Express articles, and the relevant portions of the depositions I have attached hereto together with the relevant portions
of these articles. You will notice that in this evidence he retracts,
to some extent, some of his admissions and also suggests inaccuracies
in those articles.
There are only two aspects of
statements that
could ever consider appropriate to seek his extradition. One is the firecracker incident which we have already dealt with in our correspondence with Ellis and the other is the forcing of confessions from suspects
by other means. You vill note that in his evidence when pressed on these aspects he disclaims personal responsibility yet again. Not only, therefore, are his admissions so imprecise as negate any possibility of either charging him or even embarking on an investigation, but the totality of his statements are not even admissions of wrong doing on his part.
