EXTRACT FROM MINUTES OF EXECUTIVE COUNCIL
MEETING HELD ON 2ND DECEMBER 1975
DEFENCE COSTS AGREEMENT
(SCR 5/62 VII)
The Council considered memorandum XCS(75)6.
The Council ADVISED and the Acting Governor ORDERED
that the following advice should be conveyed to the
Governor:
(a) Victoria Barracks should be vacated as
proposed in paragraph 8(a) of the memorandum,
save that Members also expressed the strong
opinion that the Agreement should contain
provision for the surrender of the Flagstaff
House area;
(b)
RAF Kai Tak should be vacated as proposed in
paragraph 8(b) of the memorandum;
(c)
(a)
as a condition of the agreement, the whole of
RAF Kai Tak should be evacuated (except for the
RHKAAF area);
as a condition of the agreement, the Memorandum
of Understanding should include provision
expunging any existing agreements whereby the
