I took this matter up with Mr Abraham in DS6, MOD. They were not very happy about the idea of sending a draft agreement to Hong Kong as quickly as the Governor wished. But after discussion, they have agreed to bring forward an internal meeting which they planned to hold to discuss the
This rescheduled draft after the Chief of Staff's meeting. internal meeting will be held on Tuesday 3 June at 10.30; Mr Andrew will be in the chair. After this meeting, we should be able to send the draft agreement to the Governor.
3. I have informed the Governor of what is happening. The MOD say they think it would be useful if someone from HKIOD attended the meeting on 3 June. I have a medical appointment myself at that time; perhaps you might like to attend or send Mr Dinwiddy to represent you.
