THE RESEARCH PROGRAMME

3. The research programme, which is the responsibility of the

Controller of Research and Development Establishments and Research,

provides the scientific and technological base for new weapon and

equipment projects. Research work is carried out mainly in defence-

related industries and the R & D Establishments, with some

assistance from university research laboratories. The programme involves work on 18 major fields of research (such as aerospace,
