The "referring back" is no inconvenience
on the
contrary I think it is essential. I suggest however we distinguish between general principles and procedures, when the queries should come to me: and details of orders and specifications, which I think ought to go direct to the Polytechnic, These should be addressed to Mr. B.L. Burton, the Librarian, for all books, bindery equipment and audio/visual and learning aids. Queries about other equipment, when they arise (asthey will do in due course) should go to the Director.

I do not think there is any point in copying detailed enquiries to me, because I shall not know the answers anyway and they will only fill up my files. If you are in any doubt however please copy to me to make sure.
6.
I do not have a telex in my office and nor does the Polytechnic: but I can use the Government House one. This is HK.3380 and should be marked "for action by S. F. Bailey UPGC". The answer-back is "GOVHK.HX".

The Polytechnic Librarian, Barry L. Burton will be in Britain in May this year and would like to call in to meet you and discuss problems. Can I leave it to you to contact each other direct and arrange things ?

I expect there will be the occasional snags (there usually are on these things) but I am sure the scheme will run along all right now that we are all in touch.
