Thank you for your letter of 21 February 1975. I
should have written sooner but it arrived when we were in the middle of a full-scale visitation at the Polytechnic which ran for eight days, combined with a Hong Kong Government budget crisis. Things are now simmering down again, I'm glad to say.

I have copied your letter of 21 February to the Poly- technic Librarian and also cabled Lloyd Carey for additional information on some of the items. On the whole things seem to be reasonably under control.

I now have a revised and up-dated list of equipment required for the Metrology and Quality Assurance Laboratory and enclose five copies. These show the estimated prices and preferred delivery dates. (Work on the new buildings has started and the main teaching, laboratory and workshop areas should be handed over in June 1976 for use by the Polytechnic). Some of the details are missing but will be coming forward soon: and I am sending the list on mainly to get the process started.

I am not sure what the current status of this part of the scheme is. We put up a certain amount of information last year, including the earlier version of this metrology list which we then expected to come out at about £110,000 in all. Do you need a separate project or scheme submission: and if so what should it cover?

I am also enclosing five copies of the Library audio- visual aids requirements. The Library at the Polytechnic is not a simple book-store type of library but operates as a "Library and Learning Resources Centre" and this includes audio-visual aids:
