Congress Classification for staff who had not worked with the . system before; awaiting the arrival of the Weber Mini-graph card duplicator and stencils and the arrival of the Gaylord Se-Lin Labeller for labelling books.
There were Library of Congress or Jostens Card Corporation printed cards available for approximately 25% of the titles catalogued. It is anticipated that this will increase to approximately 50% in the next year as cards previously ordered begin to arrive regularly.
It is anticipated that in the year 1st August 1974 to 31st July 1975, the average number of volumes catalogued per month will be 2000, thus equating with the 2000 books per month to be ordered by the Book Acquisitions Section.
The staff of the Cataloguing Section in July 1974 consisted of 5 professionals and 5 clerical staff.
Binding Section
Due to delays in obtaining equipment from the British Grant it was not possible to carry out any binding work.
