Further to your letter of 21 February about alternative suppliers for items 1 and 8.
2 Item 8 is being ordered from Vickers Ltd in Crayford Kent, but Item 1 is not manufactured in U K. Simon VK sold the marketing rights for their machines to Furnival, whose sales organisation goes by the name of Victory Guillotines. The latter has sent us a quotation for their 110 cm guillotine but say "whilst this machine is of British design, lack of manufacturing capacity in the UK at the present time necessi- tates our having the machine built in France."
3 Please could you seek DT1 clearance for this item valued at £6100.
