14.2
In view of the specialist nature of the work it seems very probable that the Scientific Officer would need to be recruited from overseas, and it would be helpful if he could speak Cantonese, or learn it on arrival in the Colony.
14.3
The most difficult part of the recruiting programme would be find-
The Assistant ing suitably motivated people to fill the Assistant Wardon posts. Wardens would be trained by the Scientific Officer and should be a quasi disci- plined force wearing a uniform etc. to effect their duties, which will consist substantially of controlling and advising visitors.
14.4
Bearing in mind that most public use of the Park will be at weekends and on public holidays the numbers of Assistant Wardens etc. must be regarded as tentative. There is an obvious need for a shift scheme of working and it may be necessary to employ part-time relief stuff.
14.5
Staff would also be needed for the Restaurant/Cafeteria if this is included in the Park. If the Restaurant/Cafeteria and toilets were together in the same building and operated on a concessionary basis, the operators could be responsible for the toilets.
