Conservation of the Mai Po Marshes as a Wildlife Refuge for Recreation and Education Committee Paper No. 19)
The Chairman thanked Mr. Melville for the "Report on the Mai Po Marshes". The Chairman added that he had specifically requested that costing be included in the report but that members should realise that the costing could only be notional at this stage, and would need refining when further investigations, both engineering and political, have been made.

Mr. Melville was invited by the Chairman to summarise the report. After lengthly discussion the Committee supported in principle the proposals for the existing Fourth Schedule "No Hunting" Area outlined in the report, namely the setting up of :-
