You may recall that at the meeting between Mr Callaghan and members of the International Committee of the TUC on 19 June, the Secretary of State directed (para.25) "that in addition to advising the Inter- national Committee of the Labour Party of the outcome of these office discussions, we should also inform the TUC."
2. I think that a letter on the lines of that you drafted for despatch to Mr Mikardo would, with only minor alterations, be suitable for sending to Mr Len Murray. Would you like to initiate this or would you prefer it to be done from here?
