CALL ON SECRETARY OF STATE
Sir Murray HacLehose will be calling on the Secretary of State at 9.45 a.m. tomorrow. The Governor last called on the Decretary of State on 11 April: I attach a copy of the record of that meeting. The following topics might be covered tomorrow.
Trade Union Lerislation

The Secretary of State might say that he, and some British trade unions, recognise that some restrictions in the trade union law are necessary (with eg, the different political allegiances of th Hong Kong trade unions in mind). Nonetheless, it would be declplu politically here if the law more corresponded with practico, which is, we understand, distinctly more liberal on such matters as the employment of paid officials by trade unions.
