We have sent a copy of Hong Kong telegram no. 372 (copy attached for ease of reference) to Major Johnson in the MOD. You will see that there is no difficulty over the Committee's proposed visit to Hong Kong. We shall be briefing Hong Kong in due course on the Sub-Committee's jurisdiction and powers, but there is no point in doing this until we know that the visit is on.
