1. Derys Roberts and I had a word about the forthcoming visit to Hong Kong by the DELO.
2. I showed him the notes prepared for the inistry of Defence for dealing with the Committee together with logman's minute of 15 July to Laurence C'Doeffe containing general information about the select committees (I enclose copies for your own perseon]. use). I explained to Denys that I do not nec hov we can stop the Committee looking into any nabber it considers of interest, both in Hong Kong and here. I said I could see that some of the items (4 to E)
in the Committee's list of interests would pose
