CAPTAIN R L GARNONS-WILLIAMS ROYAL NAVY CAPTAIN-IN-CHARGE HONG KONG

Captain Dick Garnons-Williams was born in 1925, and joined

the RN at Dartmouth in 1939. After War Service in the North

Atlantic and Mediterranean he specialised in Gunnery in 1949.

He held a series of specialist appointments in this field and

was promoted Commander in 1959. He commanded the frigate

and served from then until 1971 as Captain of the Yard and Queen's

Harbour Master, Singapore. In 1971 he assumed command of the

frigate HMS APOLLO. Captain Garnons-Williams assumed his present

appointment of Captain-in-Charge, Hong Kong on 29 September 1975.

He and his wife (whose name is Anne) are interested in

antiques, old houses and hope to pursue their interest in Old

English and Chinese porcelain whilst in Hong Kong;
