to house up to 6,500 London families a year in the Expanding Towns;

to provide houses at the seaside or in the country for retired Londoners

at a rate now expected to be 500 a year.

to modernise the Council's older dwellings;

to safeguard and improve the stock of rented accommodation in

London by acquiring vacant or rented property in private ownership at the rate of

5,500 a year at first expanding as rapid as possible later;

to assist the London Borough Councils with slum clearance, improvement

areas and stress areas;

(7)

to use vacancies arising on its own estates, and from arrangements

with the London Borough Councils, housing associations and Expanding Towns, for the

benefit of London as a whole;

to provide about £75m to £85m a year for home loans and £20m a year
