Thank you for your letter of 30 January and also for the Vacher's and for the pamphlet on Chinese children, which I found quite interesting and have circulated here, especially to Immigration Department.

As regards the points you raised :
we are arranging for a copy of the weekly English edition of the Ta Kung Pao to be sent on to you via this office. I will mark it for Hong Kong & Indian Ocean Department rather than to you personally, so that there will be no confusion when you leave.
As regards Sillars, I have come to the same conclusion from the papers we have here.
(3) I have asked Louise Tam to let you have the
information about the Consular Corps and their connections abroad.
(4) I understand G I S have sent a full written
transcript Lord Goronwy-Roberts' press conference to Andrew Stuart and also to Tony Galsworthy. You may like to know that the main questioners were Charlie Snyder of T V B, the bearded American, and Norman Barrymaine, the elderly ex-I R D Boot, who was imprisoned in China for two years in the 60s and is now working on the Standard for Miss Au Sing.
