Discussions were conducted earlier last year, as you know,
with the Chinese authorities and they were successful.
is not an easy matter, is it? It is a matter really basically most of us would approach with some reluctance. However, it is essential that there should be adjustment by agreement of the inflow of both legal and illegal immigration, otherwise our efforts here may well be nullified by conditions that you have no control over.
I don't believe anything is going on now but I will be
wrong to rule out the possibility of further discussions
as and when they are necessary in the course of the
implementation of the results of the discussions we had
last year.
I think that's the position reported.
