Trying to prove the bribery between Police and the driver, rang up the driver inside a telephone-kiosk on 4th August at about 11 p.m.. I brought along a tape-recorder with a device to record the conversation between us. I pretended as the policemu who had already ceceived the money from the driver. I told him the case was not settled unless he could give a bit more. He was willing to pay and wanted to discuss the detail next morning in a restaurant. I did not go as he said instead I wrote a letter to the Traffic Department asking when would the court be held. From the reply, they told us this case closed because no injury involved and both parties

An the Police informed us the driver was not guilty at all. old woman who sold fruit along the street saw the accident on' that day and her report was recorded down by the Police who finally rejected that she could not consider as an eyewitness. I was advised as well not to use the tape as an evidence because I was found guilty to pretend as a policemaz to find out the truth from the driver. We would now wait whether our application would be accepted by the Degal Aid or not other- wise we just stuck here.
Our family do appreciate very much any help from different sources so that we can have the compensation and at the same time to get rid of the bad habit of corruption in Hong Kong.
