Provide for the establishment of the Mass Transit Railway
Provisional Authority and for connected matters.
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the
advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
Short title.
This Ordinance may be cited as the Mass Transit
Railway Provisional Authority Ordinance 1974.

Interpretation.
Establishment
of
Provisional Authority.
2. In this Ordinance unless the context otherwise
requires
"Provisional Authority" means the Mass Transit Railway
Provisional Authority established by section 3.
3. (1) There is hereby established the Mass
Transit Railway Provisional Authority which shall consist
of the Financial Secretary, who shall be chairman, and
such other persons as the Governor may appoint.
(2) A member of the Provisional Authority may at
any time resign his office by notice in writing addressed
to the Financial Secretary.
(3) The Provisional Authority shall have power to
regulate its own procedure.
(4) The chairman of the Provisional Authority
shall preside at meetings of the Provisional Authority
