The restriction that you should only tako part in such part of Jardine Ploping' business as in concerned with affairs not related to Hong Kong is romoved, but subject to the condition set out in paragraph (3.)?

The condition is that you should give an undertaking to take no part in any of the activities of Jarding Fleming Ltd, which are directly or indirectly related to the Hong Kong Mass Transit System, until such time as the Governor otherwise directs. His Excellency has indicated that the earliest time when he would approve the lifting of this restriction would be after the contract for the finet four stagon no Mose Transit System has been cimed.

May I also refer to the third parcqnerk my letter of the 6th December 19730 Although undertaking by you not to comment "ublicly on affairs was then thought to be unnecessary, a now situation: arises if you are to become involved in Hong Kong ma' teng on behalf of Jardine Ploming. I would be grateful therefore, if you would now give the undertaking offered by you in the last paragraph of your letter of 24th November, not to make public comment on matters of Hong Kong public policy, without the approval of the Governor.
