The

claim shall be deemed to have been rejected.

Director shall within 3 months of receipt of a claim

notify the claimant whether he admits or rejects the

claim or part thereof and where he rejects he shall

briefly give his reasons. Where a claim is, or is

deemed to be rejected the Director may make an offer

of settlement or he may commence proceedings with the

Lands Tribunal to have the claim determined. If after

...4 months from the receipt of a claim by the Director

it has not been settled in full either the claimant

or the Director may commence proceedings to have the

claim or the disputed part determined by the Lands

"WE JONA Tribunal. If a claimant has failed to supply the

Director with further particulars requested by him

the Lands Tribunal may order the claimant to do so,

adjourn the hearing, and make an order as to costs.

Clause 23 deals with claims by minors and by

mentally defective persons.

Clause 24: At any time after proceedings

where

have been commenced with the Lands Tribunal the Director

or the claimant may make an offer of settlement.

such an offer of settlement is not accepted by the

other party a copy thereof, enclosed in a sealed

envelope, may be lodged with that Tribunal. A party

who refuses an offer may be liable for costs, if

the compensation awarded is equal to or less than

the amount of the refused offer.
