CHAPTER I - Introduction/review
(i) This chuptor gives a brief review of the
aims of the previous 10-year plan and the situation at the end of 1972, with regard to the targets and standards aimed at and the difficulties encountered.
(ii) There was limited comment upon this chapter. The proposed closure of 693 beds is criticised in view of the deficiency of non-acute beds.

CHAFTER II - Standards to be achieved by 1983
(i) This chapter deals with general standards 'to be achieved by 1983 in the provision of hospital beds and clinics. On the basis of this chapter, HDAC recommended that hospital bed provision by the end of 1983 shold be set at 5.5 per 1,000 population, and that 305 clinic consulting rooms are required.
