I enclose a copy of a letter dated 30 November which I hat had from Norman Rolph about current developments in the Far East which I think will be of interest to a number of your Departments. I should be grateful if you would give it such circulation as you think appropriate.
You will see that in one or two places Rolph adverts to his idea of a "think tank" about Burma, and I owe him a letter on this which I would very much like to get off early in the new year.
I sent you a copy of his earlier letter to me about this and asked if you could identify somebody with whom I could discuss it in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and you told me when we spoke recently that the matter was in hand. I should now like to have a talk with whosoever is appropriate in the Foreign Office before Christmas, if that is at all possible. Perhaps you could lay this on.
