arrested. The total weight of drugs seized was 9.5429 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 3.3879 kilogrammes of salts of esters of morphine. All four arrested persons were jointly charged with Pos- session of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking. YUNG, WONG and NG were convicted and sentenced to 6 years, 7 years and 7 years imprisonment respectively. No evidence was offered against CHEUNG.
YUNC So-chun has been on record with the Narcotics Bureau since 1968 as a principal in a drug syndicate.

On 20th November, 1973, officers of the Narcotics Bureau mounted surveillance upon a Chinese female, TAM Chai-cheung (6223/7871/
On 7022), 42 years, known to be involved in narcotics trafficking.
TANG Wai--- the afternoon of the same day, TAM was seen to meet two men, hung (6772/0251/7160), 44 years, and CHENG Chi-chung (6774/1807/1813), 25 years, and a woman, NAM Kit-chun (5663/3381/6297), 22 years, outside a Kowloon Cinema. After a brief conversion TANG handed a sum of money to TAM, whereupon CHENG gave TANG a paper bag. TANG then walked away, and when he was out of sight of the others he was stopped and searched by Narcotics Bureau officers and two packets of raw opium weighing 4.061 kilogrammes were found in the paper bag; TANG was arrested.
TAM, CHENG and NAM were seen to separate and meet again about two hours later in Hong Kong Island, where TAM joined the others in a private car. At this time Narcotics Bureau officers stopped the car and during a search found five packets of raw opium weighing 10.11 kilogrammes in the boot. TAM, CHENG and NAM were all arrested.

TAM and CHENG were victed and sentenced to 4 years imprisonment. convicted on both charges and sentenced to 4 years imprisonment on each charge. Sentences to run concurrently. NAM was acquitted.
(44) On 2nd December, 1973, acting on information, officers of the CID Special Crimes Squad mounted an operation near the access road to the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. After a period of observation a car driven by a man, CHAN Ming (7115/2494), 52 years, was stopped and searched, and two boxes containing 40 blocks
The total weight was of 1999' brand morphine were found in the boot. 50.72 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 41.06 kilogrammes of a salt of morphine (morphine hydrochloride). CHAN was arrested and charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Traf- ficking. He was convicted and sentenced to 7 years imprisonment.
