27. On 28th February, 1974, officers of the Preventive Service searched the m.v. 'Bulsook' which had arrived in Hong Kong from Bangkok. In a shaft tunnel 225 grammes of prepared opium and 100 millilitres of opium water were discovered. Enquiries failed to establish ownership of the drugs and no arrest was made.

28. On 18th March, 1974, a British female, Nicola Mary HASHIMOTO arrived in Hong Kong from Macau. She was searched by officers of the Preventive Service and 0.4 grammes of salts of esters of morphine, 1 syringe and 8 needles were found on her person. She was arrested and charged with Trafficking in a Dangerous Drug. She was convicted and bound over in the sum of HK$500.00 for a period of 18 months.

29. On 3rd May, 1974, a New Zealand male, Stuart Cappinger GODFREY arrived at Kai Tak Airport from Bangkok. He was searched by officers of the Preventive Service and inside a carton of cigarettes, 1.7 grammes of cannabis, 157.7 grammes of cannabis resin and 7.5 grammes of cannabis extract were found. GODFREY was arrested and charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking. He was convicted and fined HK$ 12,000.00. This was the first seizure of 'Liquid Cannabis' which had occurred in Hong Kong.

30. On 5th May, 1974, officers of the Preventive Service searched the m.v. 'Sipsah' which had arrived in Hong Kong from Singapore. 104 grammes of cannabis were found beside a cargo hatch. Enquiries failed to establish ownership of the drugs and no arrest was made.
A total of 4 gunny sacks containing 80 packets of raw opium and 6 blocks of ‘999' brand morphine were recovered from the seabed.
