Thank you for sending me a copy of your letter

of 8th April, 1974 reference G SO 412/212, addressed to H.E. Mr. D.H.T. Hildyard, Ambassador, Permanent Represent- ative of the United Kingdom to the Office of the United Nations at Geneva, concerning a drug training seminar to be held at Djakarta from 3rd to 22nd June, 1974.

As I expect you know, Hong Kong's participant in the seminar will be Chief Inspector D.M. Ilodson of the Royal Hong Kong Police Narcotics Bureau who has been

He is an awarded a U.N. Fellowship in this connection. experienced officer in the illicit dangerous drugs field who, I am sure, will acquit himself ably and contribute materially to the discussions to be held.

Hong Kong maintains a Narcotics Liaison Officer at the British Embassy at Bangkok. He is Mr. J.P. Law, Q.P.M., C.P.M., who is an Assistant Commissioner in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force on secondment. His title at the Embassy is Counsellor for Ilong Kong Affairs. Unfortunately, duty commitments will preclude him from being able to attend the seminar much as we would have liked to have sent him.

I hope the session goes well and look forward to hearing about it in due course from Chief Inspector Hodson following his return.
