With reference to paragraph 12 of Hong Kong telegram No 67 and the second paragraph of your letter reference A/6/3/4 of 18 March, I am now informed that, if the District Judges are to be given a place in the table of precedence and to be accorded the title of "His Honour Judge X", we need formal recommendations from the Governor to this effect, including their proposed position in the table of precedence.
2. I am sorry we have been so dilatory in telling you this. Perhaps you or John Hobley, to whom I am sending a copy of this letter, would care to arrange for a despatch containing your recommendations to be sent.
