1. David Timms has asked me to reply to your letter CR56/2091/68 of 242 22 November.

I am sorry that we are still unable to send a substantive answer to Alan Donald's letter of 27 September to Andrew Stuart. The general issue of illegal immigration from South East Asia is of interest to several departments and we are still in the process of submitting to Ministers. We have included in the submission the particular question of return of illegal immigrants to the Khmer Republic, and at this point I am afraid I can only add that we shall be in touch again as
we can.
