Foreign Ministry sent letter yesterday to Dutch section of Amnesty International saying that in the light of reports from their Embassy at Saigon, Netherlands Government have decided not
to make any further approaches for the time being to the South
Vietnamese authorities.
2.
Foreign Ministry have learned that 8 of the 118 detained
were released because they were children under age of 13. Of
those remaining in detention 45 are said to be deserters or draft
dodgers and one is a convicted smuggler.
