In our own country, Britain, when eight-year-old Mary Cairns was sent to prison under Scottish law, public opinion was so strong that she was soon released and sent back to her mother. That was one little girl, saved by the concern of millions of child lovers. The babies and boys and girls in the filthy jails of Saigon are also our concern.

*

We have discussed the plight of these children in our groups,

and I have been asked to write to you on their behalf. We are still sending

donations to Medical Aid for the fortunate ones released from jail. And at

our fortnight's summer camp this year our children intend to go without sweets or Hiroshima Day, 6th August, when we shall particularly think of the children in Vietnam. But we realise that this is only a token gesture,

and we want those in positions of power and responsibility throughout the world to know of our concern, and to take whatever action they can to end the suffering. of children in Vietnam.
