Text of report:

According to dispatches from Hong Kong, the Thieu administration on 17th. June sent in two "Air Vietnam" planes to bring forcibly back to Saigon 119 compatriots who, refusing to serve as mercenary troops for the benefit of the United States, had taken refuge in Hong Kong since late last May

UPI reported that four policemen and secret agents arrived in Hong Kong aboard these two planes and that a violent demonstration took place at the airport. The demonstrators were relatives and friends of the 119 compatriots They held up posters and shouted slogans to protest against the Hong Kong Government's inhuman treatment of Vietnamese taking refuge there.

It is common knowledge that the Hong Kong authorities colluded with the United States in this incident to oppose our compatriots. As soon as these 119 compatriots had arrived and taken refuge in Hong Kong to protest against the Thieu clique's scheme to pressgang and force them to serve as mercenary troops for the benefit of the United States, the local authorities detained them and prepared to expel them and return them to the Thieu administration. The Thieu clique stated in Saigon that it would detain and might sentence these compatriots to hard labour for life upon their forced return.
