Authorities and on May 30th '73 he was brought before a Magistrate's
Court for having entered the Colony illegally; he was fined (HK) $500, (Approx. £40), From the time when he first arrived here up to the time he appeared in the Magistrate's Court he had been
busy with his relatives and working for one of his uncles; the latter has a business in the Colony.

(d) After the magisterial proceedings were over he went to live with his relatives and working for his uncle, but the Immigration Authorities placed him on bail in the sum of (HK) $5,000 Cash and (HK) $5,000 Surety with a condition that he had to
report twice weekly to the Immigration Department. This condition
has been strictly complied with by Mr. LEUNG throughout. At the end of October 1973, when reporting, he was informed by the Immigration Department that he would be removed to S. Vietnam within 48 hours,
and that he had this period of time to make representations to the Governor. After spending 1 night in the Central Police Station, he was bailed out by the Immigration Authorities and placed on another Bail Bond of (HK)$5,000 Cash and (HK) $5,000 Surety, (the same condition were attached to the Bail), additioned to that concurrently
in force. He was informed by those authorities that the Bail money would be handed back to him, when he obtained a local Identity
Card or left the Colony. When I asked him why he had not endeavoured to obtain a Local Identity Card; he said that he was informed by the Immigration Authorities that they would let him know when he could obtain one, they never advised him.
(e) During the period end of Oct. 173 up to Dec. 12th '73 he was again living with his relatives. It was at the end of Oct. 1973 that the Visa to Taiwan was obtained (Copy of same will be forwarded to your good self in due course). It is valid up to May 1974 and authories him to stay in Taiwan for 2 months from date of entry, and can be renewed periodically thereafter.
(f) His reason for coming to Hong Kong were mainly (1) to avoid being drafted into the S. Vietnamese Army (Copy document for National Service available); the recruitment age
