Thank you for your letter of 2 January and further letter of 4 January enclosing a copy of a report from Mr AJ J Sanguinetti in Hong Kong.
We have consulted the Governor of Hong Kong on this case. Leung was released on bail pending investigation following your enquiries and has now disappeared. However, the Governor has now confirmed that Leung will be allowed to go to Taiwan when he can be traced. I trust that Amnesty will find this result satisfactory.
I should be grateful if you would pass on this information to Mr Sargant of JUSTICE.
