I apologise for writing so soon after your letter OG 7/74/151 of 29th October, 1974, but I thought that I should let you know that I am on the point of departing on 6 weeks' leave in Australia.
During my absence my deputy, Roy
Henry, will be acting in my stead; he is fully aware of my plans and my approach to you and should there be any news from you before 1st February, perhaps you would be kind enough to convey it to him by personally addressed letter.
I realise that my request for your assistance is one whicù will entail considerable consideration; however, I wondered if, at this stage, it would be possible for you to give us any indication if you will be able to release a senior officer for this task. I hesitate to ask you this because, na I have said, I realise the complexities involved, but I am sure you will appreciate my anxiety to plan - EVOD VALUely at this stage - on filling the important po Director JID.
