again.
Miss Daw (Gibraltar & General Dept)
1. We have seen news releases from Hong Kong indicating that Mr Trevor Bedford is resigning his appointment as an Administrative Officer in Hong Kong and taking up a position with the Hong Kong Land Company.
2.
I am aware that there are regulations concerning the acceptance of appointments by Officers who are retiring but wonder whether these or similar regulations apply where a man resigns and forfeits his pension rights.
3. Is there any action which we should take with regard to Mr Bedford's obvious intention to take up this new appointment? Perhaps the Governor should be asked to comment on the relationship, if any, between the two posts.
4.
I should be grateful for your comments.
