Thank you for your letter of 4 April about Trevor Bedford.
In the context of his resignation from a permanent and pensionable appointment and as a member of HMOCS, the rather ominous-sounding phrase "terminates his appointment" simply means that we will have to inform the relevant departments in the ODM and FCO, that his pension rights and membership of the Service are now dead. This we will now do. Sorry if I frightened you!
