Thank you for your letter of 1 May to the Secretary of State in which you enclosed a letter from Mr. Maurice Tracy, c/o Hastings & Co., Marina House, Queens Road C, Hong Kong, concerning the possible appointment of Mr. George V. Liu to the post of Director of Community Relations in Hong Kong's Independent Commission Against Corruption.
You will now have seen David Ennals' written reply to a Parliamentary Question on the same subject from James Sillars. I can only repeat that Mr. Liu has not been offered this (or any other) post in the Independent Commission Against Corruption, nor has he applied for one.
I am returning the letter from Mr. Maurice Tracy, together with its enclosures.
