Dear Denys,
I attach a letter which I have received from Mrs Elliott and of my reply. I have tried to be both emollient and constructive, but doubtless it has all been tried unsuccessfully before.

Perhaps you would consider whether there is anything to be done about the allegations in Mrs Elliott's letter. I would also be grateful if you could let me know what you decide to do with it in case she returns to the charge either with us or with Mr Blaker (or indeed with the press).
