Colonial Secretariat,
Lower Albert Road,
Hong Kong.
5 March, 1974
With your letter of 29 January to the Deputy Colonial Secretary (reference HKK 14/3) you enclosed a letter from one W.S. Wilson about the death of a girl in Hong Kong. You indicated that you did not need to know the outcome of our enquiries. However, I enclose a copy of the police report on the case, against the possibility that W.S. Wilson writes to you again. We cannot reply to him as he has given no address and we have been unable to trace him.
As the police report says, the investigation is still going on and there will, in any event, have to be an inquest before the case is closed. It is being treated as homicide and not suicide, as W.S. Wilson suggested he got this idea from some
incorrect press reports.
I shall not write further to you about this unless the need arises.
You
