will have noted this Department's interest in the subject matter in view of our responsibility with regard to policy on the Prerogative of Mercy. The subject is of some importance to dependent territories generally and we would be most grateful if Mr Pauncefort, Head of the General Section of this Department, could be kept informed of developments as the subject matter is dealt with.
