SUMMARY
Undated letter addressed to His Excellency the Governor and the official members of the Councils from Mr. LEUNG Kau of Rm. 132 Block 5, Kwai Chung Estate, N. T., requests that his son LEUNG Wing-sang (alias LEUNG Wang) be granted a reprieve.
The writer says that his son was involved in a gang-fight on 19th July, 1973 at Sin Chang Apartment House, Wanchai. During the fight, someone had been killed. The case was heard in the Supreme Court and his son was sentenced to death. The writer claims that he and his wife are old and ailing, and their younger son is a cripple. The livelihood of the family relied solely on Wing-sang. He goes on to say that his son, Wing-sang, has always been filial to parents and friendly to kaifongs; and that it is most unfortunate that he has fallen into bad company. The writer beseeches H. E. and the members of the Councils to sympathize with his situation and to reprieve his son on compassionate ground.
Enclosed is a photostat copy of a petition to H. E. the Governor from the Kaifongs of Kwai Chung Estate requesting that a reprieve be granted to LEUNG Wing-sang.
