The Prisoner's family occupies two resettlement unit flats at Nos. 183 & 184 at Block 12, 4/F, Tai Hang Tung R/E, Kowloon, paying a monthly rental of $38. They had lived there for about 18 years. It was overcrowded inside the home. Most of the people living in that area belonged to the working class with comparatively low income.
D. EDUCATION
The Prisoner had a total of about 5 years of schooling reaching the standard of P.5 at a private Primary School. He ceased schooling at the age of 15 as he attained poor school performance.
E. EMPROYMENT
1. Apprentice in shoe-making for a few months at around $10 p.d.
soon after he left school.
2. Apprentice in air-condition work for more than one year inter-
mittently with his elder brother at about $400 p.m. He left the job due to poor business.
3. Delivery hand at Amoy Canning for about two months at $500 p.m.
4. Casual construction site labourer for a few months at around
$17 p.d.
5. He resumed working with his elder brother in air-condition
work after coming out from Training Centre up to the time of offence at wages about $30 p.d.
F. ASSOCIATES
The Prisoner admitted that he joined the Wo Shing Wo Triad Society for more than a year before he was committed to the Cape Collinson Training Centre. He maintained contact with the Triad members after he was discharged from the Training Centre. He knew the other condemned Prisoner, LAM Kwok-wah for more than a year before he was alleged with the present offence.

The father expressed that the Prisoner was not a bad character before he went out to work at an early age as he used to bring his wages home and was rather obedient. But later he turned out to be unsteady in work, and began to associate with undesirable characters.
