G. INTERVIEW WITH THE PRISONER

The Prisoner was interviewed on 17.1.74 at H.M. Stanley. He appeared sorry for his wife's death and for his children who were left to the care of the friends and the community.

He was too perturbed to answer questions sensibly and remember the past. He was seeking pardon for his offence.

H. SUMMARY

This is an unfortunate case of family tragedy resulting from the unresolved broken relationship between the Prisoner and his wife. The Prisoner himself lost his own parents at an early age and probably this made him a very jealous person for demanding love and attention from his wife as compensation for his previous loss of parents. His level of education was such that he did not seek better communication with his wife or avail himself of the counselling service of the social worker for ventilation. There was a high probability that he was inclined to beat up his wife more than necessary to show his masterliness in the house which might be characteristic of him.

The gulp of domestic relationship brought about by financial or other matters was much in evidence before the incident occurred but this is of common occurrence for a domestic quarrel in ordinary households.

He was

The Prisoner now regretted for his involvement. capable of regretting but not preventing which is more essential for the sake of his own and his children's well-being.
