I am very conscicus that if our planned separation had gone into effect as planned, this tragedy would have been averted.
I deeply regret the fact that I have killed my wife as I loved her as I love the other members of the family. This has caused me extreme grief and her loss will be shared by cur children in the years ahead. Therefore your humble petitioner is appealing to His Excellency the Governor to exercise the Royal Prercsative of Mercy for my act and to commute my present sentence of hanging end substitute one of imprisonment so that I can repent and atone for all my wrong-doing. I hope to be able to resume a useful industrious life some day and be of benefit to the community in the future.
I wish to stress to Your Excellency that at the time I assaulted my wife I was feeling extreme pain as she was squeezing my scrotum. The medical examination which I had, showed that I had suffered bruising over the front of the right mid-thigh and right lower thigh. When I realised my wife might be badly hurt I immediately went next door to dial 999 to obtain help for her.
and your Petitioner as on duty bound will ever pray, 呈請人將感恩不盡
