intend to kill or intend to cause any grievous bodily
harm to the Deceased or Yeung Lin-shing, she does not
seek to persuade Your Excellency that she has no res-
posibility for the consequences of the events leading
up to the offences for which she was indicted, or that
she is not deserving of condign punishment therefor.
Your Petitioner bitterly and contritely regrets ever
getting involved in what has rightly been described as
"the sordid business" of being in charge of prositutes.
She similarly regrets that, whilst she did not personally
assault the Deceased or Yeung Lin-shing, she did not
object to the actions of other persons because she did
not expect any serious consequences to result therefrom.
Your Petitioner now realises and accepts that her role
in the "sordid business" and her acquiescence in the
actions of other persons may have operated as assistance
and encouragement of those actions.
6. Your Petitioner respectfully and humbly submits that she
had very little control over the situation which led to
the death of the Deceased or the injuries sustained by
Yeung Lin-shing, because most of the assailants were
obedient to the wishes and commands of others, not in
custody, who Your Petitioner now verily believes are
