That your humble Fetitioner is very repentent of his action and of the cowardly manner in which he took part in the assault on the deceased. fully appreciates the disgrace he has brought on his honourable family and the fact that he has failed in his obligations, as eldest son, to his family. He realizes the error of his ways in becoming associated with persons of criminal nature. Therefore he is appealing to His Excellency the Governor to pardon him for his act and to remit his present sentence of hanging and substitute one of imprisonment so that he could repent and atone for his wrong doing. That your humble Petitioner promises to remember this forever and thence forward to lead a useful, industrious life and be of benefit to the community, and his family and your Petitioner as on duty bound will ever pray,
